There are approximately 400 different species of cockroaches in Australia.
They have long and slender and slender thread-like antennae, legs well suited to running, well developed compound eyes and chewing mouthparts. They like dark humid places and are for the most part, nocturnal, resting during the daytime under items and between boards in a building. Some species are capable of flight, but very warm conditions are usually required.
